CEPCO'S Annual Dinner is approaching fast! Give CEPCO a call today if you have not yet renewed your sponsorship or reserved your tickets. Or even easier use the link below and fax the form into 892-8197. The event will be held on June 26, 2008 at Sierra Nevada Brewery's Big Room. As in year's past, we will again honor "Excellence in Business" as well as a new surprise in the event format. We will continue to have our local wine, cheese, and olive oil tasting; but as a part of this year's event we will close the evening with the final competition of Venture Island. You, the audience will be able to vote for favorite as the winner of the grand prize. To go along with Venture Island, this year's annual dinner will be less formal - instead of Black Tie everyone will be encouraged to wear their best Hawaiian shirts! VENTURE ISLAND "Make or Break Beach" June 5, 2008
The "Make or Break Beach" challenge will be held at the Enloe Conference Center at 4pm on Thursday, June 5th. Watch the Monday Report for more information.

The date for the last event is June 5, 2008. The "Make or Break Beach" competition will be held at Enloe Conference Center from 4pm - 7pm. The 8 contestants will be whittled down to 3 finalist who will participate in the "Big Kahuna" competition to be held at CEPCO's 23rd Annual Dinner on June 26th at the Sierra Nevada Brewing Company's Big Room. After the dinner and CEPCO Excellence in Business awards presentation the final 3 will compete for a grand prize and top title of Venture Island. CEPCO's Annual Dinner is always a great event and this year we're adding to the festivities by having the audience participate in the voting for the best entrepreneur and winner of Venture Island!

Habitat for Humanity - Wine Tasting and Food Pairing Fundraiser!
Chico Association of Realtors is hosting a "Wine Tasting and Food Pairing" event for Habitat for Humanity. The fundraiser will be held on Thursday, May 8 from 5pm - 8pm at the Canyon Oaks Country Club. Tickets are $35 and must be purchased in advance.

American Red Cross Real Hero - CEPCO member, Sandra Sim!
Sandra Sim, Sales Manager at the Oxford Suites and CEPCO member is being honored on May 16th by the American Red Cross at their Annual Real Heroes Black Tie Dinner. Sandra is being honored with a nomination in the "Community Volunteer" category for her countless hours of volunteering in the community. She has volunteered at Enloe Hospital, Western Miracles, Make-a-Wish, RAD, Butte County Animal Shelter to name a few. In addition to her volunteering, Sandra is a mother of 5, with a husband and oldest daughter serving in the military and she works full time as the Sales Manager at Oxford Suites here in Chico. Please join CEPCO in congratulating Sandra on her nomination, it is well deserved! 
The event will be held at the Sierra Nevada Big Room on Friday, May 16th from 6:00pm - 11:00pm. The event will also feature: Master of ceremonies Mert Ahlstrom, a video presentation of the American Red Cross history, and live music with The Rockhounds. There will be a Silent Auction benefiting the local Glenn/Butte Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. LPGA Golf Tournament!
NorCal Waste Systems and the City of Oroville are hosting a Golf Tournament this summer! All proceeds will be shared with the American Cancer Society Breast Cancer Awareness Program and the Oroville Junior Golf Foundation.

For 2008, the Chico Economic Planning Corporation’s Job Creation Committee has targeted the Come Home to Chico Program as one of our focus areas. With an affinity for the college and the community CEPCO is reaching out to the alumni in an effort to recruit them back to Chico. In hopes of them bringing with them; their talent and knowledge. As well as those who are looking to start their own company in a community that offers as much as Chico and the surrounding area does. Our goal has always been the creation of new jobs and new business in this up-and-coming area. Job Creation Committee meetings are held at 555 Main Street.
